For People Who Like to Make Things Themselves
Another knitting post! |
This was a bit longer project than the calorimetry and last threats were tied off yesterday. It's going to be a present, the very first time i saw the pattern i knew i wanna do this for her, it was suppose to be a x-mas gift last year but i didn't find the yarn i wanted; orange Tango, dunno if they don't make it anymore or why it wasn't in the stores.. Before coming to Israel i finally found from local cheap store some German yarn -Koala- that seemed okay for this and also white Tango look-alike -called Funny- for the tail ^^
Pattern here (only in finnish, sorry). I did my fox with half amount of the stitches so it became single layered and i think it works just fine like that, also reformed the nose area a bit.
Tail became little too wide..
Eyes were suppose to be black but my "almost-mother-in-law" didn't have any so i thought the blue ones will bring little more personality :)
Aww, your fox looks so fox-like!
For any interested parties, there's a non-Finnish pattern called "Vegan Fox" that's also great fun, and a very quick'n'easy knit. I've currently got yarn trios in brown/natural, black, blue, and purple for making several as Christmas presents (I've seen Arctic Fox pelts dyed all manner of colors, and thought, "why not?"). If memory serves, there might even be a whole community on Ravelry dedicated to the Vegan Fox...
And thanks for bringing up that pattern, may knit it for my other friend who's also into foxes (living ones..) ^^
Funny is from Sandnes, a Norwegian company, so if you have peeps back in Finland, they can probably hook you up. PS - are you on Ravelry?
The paper thingy around the both yarn rolls (Koala and Funny) has logo that says Four seasons Gründl (Firma Max Gründl) and all text are in german.
PS. i wasn't on Ravelry, but just made account there, thanks :D
I love it! That's completely cute!!!
